The Nigerian Navy has said it arrested nine foreign nationals alongside two boats and seven trucks over alleged stolen Petrol Motor Spirit (PMS) around the Atlas Cove area of Lagos.
The Commander, Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) BEECROFT, Commodore Ibrahim Shettima said this while briefing reporters at the command in Apapa, Lagos.

There are indications that Nigeria has lost significant oil as a result of increasing pipeline vandalism and oil theft in the Nigeria Delta.
Investigation by Vanguard over the weekend showed that many oil companies, including the International Oil Companies, IOCs and indigenous producers have been affected.

The Nigerian Navy, NNS Victory Calabar, has handed over eight persons suspected to be involved in illegal conveyance of oil to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Uyo Zonal Office, including 105 drums of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol), and the wooden boat used for the illegal activity.
The suspects arrested onboard the boat are: Godwin Eden (Nigerian), Justice Ebanga (Nigerian), Effiong Gilbert (Nigerian), Manasseh Obani (Nigerian), Ambe Festus (Cameroonian), Alpha Emmanuel (Cameroonian), Sakwe Felix (Cameroonian) and Vasco Mekora (Cameroonian).

The Federal Government has disclosed that about 43 refineries, including large scale and modular refineries have been licensed to refine petroleum products across the country.
The Senior Technical Adviser to Nigeria’s Petroleum Minister on Refineries and Downstream Infrastructure, Rabiu Suleiman, told The Guardian in an exclusive interview that two of the refineries (modular) would be inaugurated in the coming week in the Niger Delta region.

Five oil wells, operated by Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL) at Ajegunle Ikorigho community in Ilaje Local Council of Ondo State, have engulfed in combustible fire few weeks after militants threatened to resume hostilities in the oil-rich Niger Delta.
The Guardian learnt that the inferno, which had been on for seven days, worsened yesterday and spread to neighbouring riverine communities.

Bayelsa state governor, Seriake Dickson, has charged the Joint Task Force “Operation Delta Safe” to vigorously undertake efforts that will lead to curbing kidnapping, sea piracy and sundry crimes in the maritime environment.
Governor Dickson gave the charge when he received the new Commander, Rear Admiral Akinjide Akinrinade who is also seeking the partnership of government to protect national assets in the state.

The Deputy Zonal Head of the Uyo Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Alex Ebbah, on April 8, 2019, led a team of operatives to the Nigerian Navy Forward Operating Base (FOB) Ibaka, Mbo Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State, to take over of a large wooden boat used in conveying 501 drums of petroleum products suspected to be Automotive Gas Oil, AGO.
At the time of arrest, eight crew members were onboard the wooden engine boat along with the 300 litre in 501drums, which were used in conveying the product.
